We are doing the roof. Finally. We sourced the scaffolding which was delivered, erected and paid for, now let’s hope there’s no rain in the next month at least!
We are very lucky in that we can do most of work ourselves, with Steve’s experience of renovations in the UK. After being in Galicia for nearly two years, we now know where to buy what for construction, so shouldn’t be much of a problem. Just remember you are on scaffolding, Steve!
And I know that everything will be done to the highest standard, all lines straight where they should be straight, and my new roof wouldn’t leak come winter.
On the first day, 1 August, I can’t believe how much we have done! South part of the old roof is gone, beams levels corrected, wooden structure beginning to take shape, and at 6-30pm we were two very tired but satisfied people.
Apart from Steve being bit by the wasps nesting under old roof (hope they’ll go by tomorrow), everything is going very well indeed. It’s great to have a buider as a husband!
Anyone needs a builder?
